FlashVoc provides an easy and intuitive user interface for entering your vocabulary on an iDevice. Although, you can import larger vocabulary sets from a text file. The text file represents your vocabulary set in a simple format that is described in the following paragraphs.
The first line of the text file contains the name of the vocabulary set followed by the names of the languages in the set:
Unit 1;English=Deutsch
The following lines contain one vocabulary each, with the translation and an optional comment:
cat=Katze
The comment is optional and separated with * (the comment always is the last part of the line and is valid for both languages):
so that=sodass*conj.
How to import vocabulary into FlashVoc:
- Create and save a vocabulary file with the format described above and with the extension .txt
- Launch iTunes and connect your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch
- Select the device in iTunes and click "Apps"
- Select FlashVoc in "File Sharing" and drag + drop the vocabulary file to "FlashVoc Documents"
- Run FlashVoc on your iDevice. The file will be automatically imported to FlashVoc and deleted from "FlashVoc Documents".
You cannot import two vocabulary sets with the same name (as in the first line of the file). If you want to import a file again, you first must delete the set in FlashVoc.
